The house is in bad shape, windows opened, its been trashed, copper stolen, basement flooded and has fallen victim of drug use and homeless people sleeping inside.

Tenants can invoke the protections under the CDC Order only if they give their landlord a signed declaration and truthfully state that they are unable to pay their rent for a COVID-related reason, have tried to obtain rental assistance, have made their best efforts to pay partial rent, have either received a stimulus payment or will make less than $99,000 this year, and eviction might leave the tenant homeless or forced into a group living situation.If there is no signed declaration, have your friend contact a local attorney to walk through their options or to talk to someone at the county court about what steps they need to take to evict a tenant.

Households meeting all of the following criteria will be eligible for assistance: - Qualifies for unemployment benefits or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs or experienced other financial hardship due directly or indirectly to COVID-19; and - Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and - Has a household income at or below 80% of the area median income, with priority given to 1) households below 50% of the AMI or 2) households with one or more individuals who have been unemployed 90 days or longer at the time of application The below chart details the household income requirements for eligibility.

We're going to have a serious homeless problem if something isn't done soon.) currebtly closing on my first property where the numbers work to subsidize the lower level rents without shocking them with unsustainable rent in increases to those that truly can't afford it.

What I absolutely never agreed with was the tone that was trendy for a bit which was blatant bashing of SF Bay Area and crutching those “Bay Area exodus” arguments - using clickbait articles- on climate change (forest fires), homelessness, pandemic and high cost of living.
