Depending on regulation where you are, they may be required to remediate before they can sell the property (it's worth checking in to this in the case of Illinois).Larry is correct, clean-up of old USTs can be expensive ... just depends on how much of oil (or other liquids) were in the tank when it was abandoned and whether the integrity of the tank is still intact.

Larry Haun has an excellent video on YouTube about framing that I would definitely recommend in addition to his book.Put chalk lines on the floor where your walls will go.
