But, I'd ask them about themselves, then start blabbing a bit, and they'd get comfortable enough to start blabbing, too, and before you know it, they've accidentally told me they were planning to stay for just a couple months and then go home to India for the summer LOL.

That is only going to go on for so long.I am old enough to remember when interest rates were something like 18%, I remember a decade or so later buying my first house on an adjustable rate of 10.6%, and was ecstatic at how low the rate was.As far as real inflation, a big reason for low inflation over the last 20-30 years has been the offshoring of manufacturing to emerging markets like China and India

Since 1992, its GDP has grown by an average of 5.5% per year and, in the whole world, maybe only China and India have beaten that and only Panama comes close in the Americas (but Panama is not the best market for short-term rentals, as I've mentioned in a previous rely above).
