On the Washington Post 'Best Books of 2016' list, I stumbled across this gem:'Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City' by Matthew DesmondDust jacket: “Evicted” immerses readers in the lives of families and individuals trapped in — or thriving off — the private-rental market for the poor, a brutal world in which landlords have all the power and tenants feel all the pain.

So what do people do with excess trash or clean outs of the garage, homes, basements, yards, They take it to my apartment complex and use my bins.But there have been public meetings about this issue and certain people show up and scream bloody murder that by going to a single hauler all the mom and pop businesses will go out of business and the big corporate accounts will thrive.

I am trying to dive deeper and any insight you can provide is precisely what I need from someone who experienced the downturn directly and obviously not only survived, but thrived. 

I know I consider moving but my kids are thriving in their public school and I don't want to upset that.

I think I can thrive in the industry because of my drive and motivation, I just want to learn more before i dive in.

The town is now thriving and hasnt been annexed into the capital city although by looking at the population, it looks like it should all blend in.

Now, imagine if these corporations could somehow influence our politicians; they could basically control legislation to ensure that not only do they continue to have favorable tax treatment, but they could also rig the system to ensure that true capitalism couldn't thrive, as the "little guy" would have little ability to compete.That's as big a problem as individuals not paying tax (which is clearly a major problem as well).

I tell them they do not want extra cash flow in the face of putting their family in an environment where they do not fail safe to thrive and be comfortable.

Can't tell how many cycles I've seen big differences between one region's thriving while another languishes.
