At the end of the day we can screen our tenants all we want, but cannot control what people do.  

For most people a house hack is a great start. 

I find single ADUs are mostly being added by people with minimal RE investment experience often without a clue as to the value that will be added by the adu addition.  

I'm in a small town so the people aspect is a huge consideration.

Seems like a hassle to remove cameras from inside every time a guest is coming.Outdoor cameras are good for near the front door but otherwise keep them out of areas people will gather or near pools/hottubs.I have the Eufy cameras (solar) near the door and Schlage Connect Z Wave locks.

you are going up against people and companies that spend thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars a month in marketing. 

Then when you have enough money for the 3.5% down, buy a place that you can live in and rent out spaces to other people. 

Or maybe you're great at talking to people and could make cold calls for someone working off a leads list. 

And of course all the events and attractions that draw people to Myrtle Beach are just 20 minutes away.In addition to Murrells Inlet, I would consider the adjacent Surfside Beach... which sits right between Garden City Beach and Myrtle Beach.
