If your goal is financial freedom, then there are stringent requirements for where you invest.

Your best bet is to look for properties that aren't so high value, for instance, near hospitals and cater to healthcare workers.

Where these numbers are found, there is a very high rate of rent actually being paid.We have over a dozen Fortune 500 companies just in Metro Detroit with huge Healthcare, Auto, and mortgage industry National footprints.

I understand Cleveland has some of the best and biggest hospitals in the nation but after reading statistics from Furnished Finder it seems like the demand of traveling nurses does not reflect the current growth and magnitude of the healthcare industry in the area for whatever reason.

I currently work in the health care industry but my family background is construction and rental properties. 

Gurus that tout renting vs buying like Remit, Cardone etc never seem to contemplate this hybrid.If we are in a place to settle down, owning a plex or 'luxury' househack can be the foundation to long-term freedom.  

My short terms goals are:1) Learn everything I can about real estate investments2)  Purchase my first rental property this yearMy long term goal is to reach financial freedom within 10 years.I generally try to be financially savvy so naturally I learned that real estate is just about the best investment opportunity out there.Feel free to hit me up if anyone wants to chat.

I have no interest in personally owning anything there and I would never live or retire there too many bugs and healthcare etc would be of great concern along with there are simply too many sneaky speed bumps on the highways :) For me if I was going out of country, I would go to Portugal personally.
