The most recent appraisal I got  has the second home marked as an accessory unit.

There a basically 3 types of cabinets IMO 1) Off-the-shelf from Lowes or HD: Approx $3-4k 2) Special order form Lowes or HD: Approx $12-15k or 3) true custom built by a cabinet - maker $30k and upSo first decide what your budget is..if you can at least do the second choice you get a MUCH better built product (dovetailing, no particleboard, more custom sizes and accessories Etc) White is always a good choice. fits anywhere and pretty timeless.Countertops: Some types of Granite can chip and wear poorly around sinks and edges.

The city also used the opportunity to clarify that accessory dwelling units -- carriage house, basement apartment, etc -- are not legal dwelling units and can't be rented out at all unless they're zoned as separate units.
