Criticism just activates defensiveness and then you just have an argument and tension following, not a solution to the problem.

They are in all actuality a Retailer.So the real tension I feel here is not really aimed at Wholesalers.

Financials aside, if my husband & I vehemently disagree and one has to muscle the other along, it ends up being a bad financial decision in the end.

I might seriously consider that latter strategy more if I actually had the financial muscle to flex. 

Make sure the piers are at the right spacing, rebar where it should be, post-tension cables set correctly, and slab poured to the right depth etc.
