The subsidiary remains on my credit report as an "existing creditor" that can do a soft pull on my credit report at any time (even after I've frozen my credit out of an abundance of caution).

@Mike Schorah- thanks - if this is  happening to you - contact the  heloc  lender and get all questions asked ....often this means the  HELOC  is frozen and cant be  accessed  and  that the  balance is  due .
