Also check if there are any boarding house regulations in your area that would impact you. 

Beyond trying to connect on this forum would recommend look in the BP Meet up section and checking out local DFW FB RE investor Facebook groups as well as Meetup.com and Eventbrite for local events. 

Ultimately it is either a long process to get a check/fix, or they deny the claim.    

I get the equivalent of a large cheese pizza deposited into my checking account each month.  

Go out to AirBNB and VRBO and check the area where you are looking.

However, the MLS in San Diego as well as the appraisers I've worked with do.You'll definitely want to check to see how the topic is addressed in the particular locale the property is in. 

However, I've learned a lot from that experience and am willing start over again- Make sure you stay on the top of them and fully account for the draws being taken as if they (Builder) have multiple projects I've seen where one individual's draw gets comingled with another property.

Also, check for prepayment penalties or clauses that could cause issues.

I do it myself and takes 20 to 30 minutes a month (did it yesterday for Dec), with about 7 of those minutes for 1 property in Blount County, TN which requires the form to be manually filled out, write a check, address an envelope, scan doc and check for my records and walk it to my mailbox.
