Disclamer: I have an RE licence as well but I mostly use it to broker properties that are great investment deals but do not feet my "buy and hold" niche"Ps, I would be curios to see what@Joel Owens thinks of CCIM certification.

You're going to have to pay a broker one way or another, MLS access, E&O insurance if your broker doesn't cover it, post licence education (might vary depending on your state), continuing education, etc.

Can you get a contractors licence yourself?

A question I had was "do you need a realtors licence to do wholesaling in California?".  

I'm a moderately experienced moonlight investor with solid and relevant non-RE professional credentials, just got my real estate licence, joined my PM's brokerage, and I just had 3 deals pay out. 

As you could tell by the title I live in California and looking for recommendations to a good online Real estate licencing class, that maybe some of you have taken and liked.

@Alex Varner I usually ask for their licence, insurance and few references.

If you can get it into a constant flow, it should be fine, and you make at least %40 more, I would also consider getting a STR licence as an owner occupant since you are currently living in it that could also work well. 

If one needs a RE agent licence to sell real estate, can it be from any state in the USA for any type of property?
