The Destin laws were put in place by urging of the fire marshal to avoid a tragedy in an overcrowded home.

A Florida lawsuit (involving a convicted sex offender rather than a vicious dog) is being filed against the owners and managers of an apartment complex, claiming they could have prevented a tragedy if they had been on the ball.

The recent tragedy might signal a buying opportunity.When we lived near East Palo Alto, CA, it suffered 1 year of notoriety as the US "murder capital".

Then, what might be a tragedy to others will simply be an inconvenience to you.     

That was a bummer, but not a tragedy because my 15 and 30 year mortgages were not getting called.   

I really like Monroe, but family tragedy made me decide to move.  

There will be lots more tragedies in the future.

Hello BiggerPockets family,My wife and I own a multifamily apartment building, and we had a terrible tragedy a couple of days ago.We await the final police report, but there was an apparent murder/attempted suicide in one of the units.So far we’ve spent $20k in crime-scene cleanup and they still have another day of work to do.
