Permitting garage enclosures in fairly simple and we now have an awesome way to add square footage to smaller houses.Hope this is something you think might be a good story to share

@Jeremy Host just to add to the discussion, I have seen people put in cyclone fence enclosures or other types that people can see in.

If the wall of a home or building constitutes part of the pool enclosure, the above fencing requirements may be substituted with one of the following:A wall, fence, or barrier that is at least four feet high; A motorized safety pool cover that requires a key switch, which must meet standards published by the American Society for Testing and Materials;A self-latching device on any doors with direct access to the pool area.

I believe this to be an enclosure of an already existing covered patio in the backyard, where walls were added along with central air/heating to make it a part of the main home.After inquiry, the seller has noted that the extention was added in the late 80s and I do not see any permit on file for this work.

The pool was restored & with a screen enclosure to complete the look.

Property appraiser, ( municipal county sites have a ton of information ) READ every line of what you find  divorce trusts quick deeds second mortgages, deaths tax liens hoa liens all need to be registered .oh and a big one Building permits this is super important to track additions porch enclosures garage conversions What do they have listed as living space?

For instance, I know that a full gut and remodel including new toilet, new vanity, mirror, sink, glass door enclosure, stone/tile on shower walls, etc will run me $2500 per bathroom.

Trust me on the FOOT BOLTS part...I would use a THM for most of the framing and tiling of the shower/tub enclosure.  

If you buy a new truck hit something or dent the tailgate time you drive it off the lot.
