I'm sure you can splurge at Starbucks, but keep in mind, after "Financial Friday" comes "Spend it Saturday"!

and just that OC may be better/more practical for actually finding some deals to INVEST in more affordably rather than splurge in.

I've done that on my recent one and thought it looked good.As many people have stated, durability is important.If I am going to splurge, it would be on the bathrooms or kitchen.

I can splurge and make a good profit on the house.

If I took 50% of the money I spent on travel, live sporting events and other splurges in the last 5 years I'd have more than enough for a down payment for 2 cash flow generating houses and much closer to financial freedom.  

When you "splurge" for an undermount sink (for example) is much more market dependent.  

This is the thing to splurge on. 

For that, I was able to learn enough to get started by combing the internet, rather than splurging on a course, or attending seminars.

I’m tired of it haha so I’m finally splurging and spending some serious coin to have permanent nice outdoor seating which tenants will really appreciate, and also not rust either. 

But you gotta splurge on something, right?!?!
