I was thinking about putting more windows in the dormer and extending the roof so there is more overhang (over the dormer and the porch)Another idea was to expand the porch to cover the width of the house, and building a steeper roof on that to hide the ugly dormer behind it (the ridge of the porch roof would run perpendicular to the ridge of the main roof, if that makes sense...)Would love to hear your thoughts or alternatives!

When the duct run needs to go perpendicular to the joists it will obviously need to be flush with the ceiling, but you can place that run alongside a wall.
