And sheetrock in a moist crawlspace is a no-go.  

One thing that was a blessing was that the basement was overall moist but had minimal standing water because they had the power on.

. *** I realize that the home warranty is going to try and repair these units forever and will resist replacing them, but at some point they would have to replace moist of the components since they cannot just be perpetually repaired ***I was considering American Home Shield since they seem to accept appliances in any condition and without previous records of maintenance, etc...Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Lose the "put lipstick on a pig" mentality and do it right. 

Because IF it's like here, with our clay soils and all... once you Do have gutters, then you MUST have a soaker hose system or drip irrigation set up, to keep the ground around the foundation moist. 

I can't tell whether the floor is wet/moist or whether that coloration is just from the concrete they poured when the waterproofing system was installed.

I've seen cases where the warm moist air condensed on the underside of the roof sheathing and rotted it and the rafters.

we had 6 ft in a basement & the HW tank was literally horizontal against the floor joists.apart from the pumps suggested get some of the high force fans to dry it out esp the electrical panel as it will get moist & it could short.

Plumber stated problem is outside of his expertise, since the only thing he noticed was a very MOIST crawl space underneath the cottage, all over, as if after a rain.

My wife keeps saying lay sod, but I guess I'd need a timed above ground sprinkler to keep it moist.
