I've seen some cool pictures, but then look at the prices and for $500/night I can stay in a very nice luxury hotel with all the services, instant fixes if anything broken/malfunctions, 24 hour room service, valet parking, luggage assistance and all the other nice things that come with a hotel stay.

That's when I learned you can't trust the old style ballasts and I'm very careful not to install those kinds of light fixtures in any of our properties.I've heard of the belt going out on a dryer, stopping the turn of the drum, leaving the clothes stationary too close to the heating element and resulting in a fire.Snow bird friends of ours had a refrigerator ice maker water line malfunction in their vacation home in Palm Springs while they were away for the summer and the water ran for weeks throughout the house unchecked.

When we do, it usually points to a broken water line or malfunctioning toilet flapper, which we rectify in short order.Note: We live on the "wet" side of the state, not in the desert, so our water usage and water costs per cubic foot are reasonably low.

Plus, where I can, I pass the snow removal and grass moving onto the tenants with their lawn movers (you can be liable for malfunctioning of your lawn mover and they will own everything you own).

If it's the flooring I'm thinking of (the synthetic tiles that click together that are completely waterproof), you might not even have to pull them up.I've had water get under those in my own house from a plumbing malfunction, to where the whole floor was floating.

Think the opinion of issue on shower is overblown and people are making it seem like a huge water risk or major malfunction etc..... my interpretation of what the issue is relates to when you pull the bath faucet to get the water to divert to the shower head, not 100% of the water is getting diverted....some still comes through the faucet...how much are we talking here?

Not that expensive & probably the best of a bad lot but they do respond to fix malfunctioning sensors etc.
