That's the problem with lying, right? 

BUT, then you want those landlords to judge every single tenant individually and not lump them all together with the ones that lie, cheat, steal, and destroy the property on purpose?

I'm just in a bit of a chicken-egg situation.

Management treats line employees quite poorly and lying is just part of the job.

The fact that they are saying it would be released to the seller is, more than likely, a lie. 

I realize this may not be a strong enough reason if the market dynamics have shifted.As for California, my interest lies in the fact that I live here.

A month after they moved in, the last landlord called me back and apologized for lying and stated he had been trying to get them out for a year.They had some items on the background check I could have used to deny the application. 

And additionally, they have to sign the declaration of covid hardship, which pretty much anyone will sign since they can can flat out lie about it.

You should take advice from experienced people here who have not motivation to lie to you.

Some amenities are crucial and obvious (pots and pans, plates, linens, good Wi-Fi), some are unnecessary and obviously so (personal movie theater with arcade game room), but the trickier amenities lie in the 2 middle zones.What are some necessary amenities that you might overlook?
