The majority thing about insurance is to protect the HOA from being sued and to protect HOA board members also. 

Having a mortgage and your normal STR insurance is already 2 levels of protection.

@Paulette Midgette I haven't looked at that statute in a while but I would check to see if the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act ("HICPA") applies to this situation.

The lender required me to quit claim out of my LLC which I use for asset protection.

@Brice Alef-Torrisi To manage finances for multiple properties, maintain separate bank accounts for each property if held under different LLCs to avoid commingling, which could jeopardize liability protection and complicate tax deductions.If properties are under one LLC, using a single account is fine but requires detailed record-keeping for each property.

Sorry for the long winded back story, but end game is to put a A frame on the existing 20x40' stem wall above near where I"m standing, and put some stairs into a drop down area below for chairs/fire-pit overlooking the river canyon below (but out of view) under where the drone is flying.
