The law was passed in large part because the state did not desire safe legal units to be removed from the market (I heard state senator Robert Wienkowski discuss the various ADU laws and some of the rationale).Did the judge ignore the state law that temporarily allows such units?

You may not be able to insist the proof of need come from their regular doctor.In my state (Florida), they are just now looking at a new senate bill requiring the certification is NOT from someone who the "disabled" has seen only exclusively for a fee.

(I have however signed up for the Robert Kiyosawki free 2 hour 'intro course' on Friday in Kanada (Ottawa) Ontario on Friday if anyone else is going there).Best think I would think would be to get active in the forums, try out the calculators to see how they work, if you are excel savvy, you could do up a base estimate sheet fairly quickly.

The Finance Minister announced steps to curb the influx of foreign capital into the Canadian Real Estate Market (in which he really meant TO and Vancouver ... down east we are not really suffering from the influx of foreign money ... sure we lost a 50-unit deal a couple of years ago to a Chinese investor, but the property was not worth what s/he paid, so we'll see it back on the market eventually).That said, Ottawa is only removing a loophole which has allowed foreigners to purchase a residence in Canada, claim it as their principal residence and then benefit from the personal residence {captial gains} tax exemption when they sell.
