We rent single family homes, so we have a conversation about yard maintenance, snow removal etc - have you don't this before, do you have the tools etcI also bring up house cleaning questions, by telling them we had a tenant who did not own a vacuum cleaner, did not know how to run a dishwasher, had a mess in the basement etc - and then see how they respond.That is a non-offensive way to talk about house cleaning and you'd be surprised how different the responses are.

She told me that 15 minutes from a hospital was the best according to the nurses especially with snow.

My water usage bill is the same,  general lability coverage is the same, if and when I have to replace my water service line it will cost the same, the cost for my lawncare and snow removal costs the same, exterminating services cost the same and the list goes on.   

He started out doing some snow shoveling and plowing for me and then some mowing when I was out of town and now he is my right hand man.

I would never invest in any area that snows, or pipes freeze.

I just clean out units , mow grass and snow plow.  

My second slow season I decided not to rent it out because the propane bill to heat the home wasn’t worth the hassle, this last slow season was record snow and many homes lost power and heat for several days, it was categorized as a natural disaster.

Closing on a place at the end of Jan and it has snow birds there already through March. 

I didn’t want to deal with the Midwest snow/ice or the FL/SE storms. 

There were so many claims for snow damage last year that many HOA are losing their insurance or having to pay crazy amounts.
