While regrouting I find myself whispering promises to the "Grand dame", telling her of how we have a friend who is preparing moulding identical to the original which will be put up next month, and assuring her that, soon, there will once again be laughing children decorating a Christmas tree in her front room window, and that maybe, just maybe, I;ll be able to convince the next people living within her protective walls to hang one of the Christmas ornaments unearthed in the deepest part of the crawl space onto that tree.Not almost, this has definitely become a spiritual experience for me.

I think there is a lot of opportunity there with South Bend being home to Notre Dame and all. 

Those countries do not pay for fire suppression systems or sufficient fire alarms and security for old, public buildings and they burn down every day like Notra Dame Cathedral in France.

It's a grand dame, 100+ years old, 20-some rooms, with a restaurant.I've got all kinds of plans for the place - A stand-n-shuck oyster bar.

Lake Michigan is a huge attraction for otherwise boring Indiana.. there is a train that runs from chicago and stops in michigan city and south bend (Notre Dame football home), and Chicago-ans come down in the summer to swim and boat.

The area north of the Dames Point Bridge is definitely being built up as is all of the Bartram area, and anything near the St Johns County line.

@Jeff Schemmel so ice daming is when there is a heat thaw cycle outside, or your house heat is escaping into the attic, and the snow on your roof melts during the day then freezes at night in your gutters.
