No such requirement for improving rental properties and deducting interest on Schedule E.

The fundamental thing is also that in Asia and Middle East, the jobs & buying power of people have skyrocketed exponentially in the past 10yrs, much better than western countries today.

You can easily tag each transaction using categories that synch to your Schedule E for tax time.
