In the 2 that I am familiar with (CA and AZ) here is what you must do to become a Contractor:1) Prove 4 years experience at Journeyman level or higher (skilled tradesman).2) Have a Licensed Contractor of the same trade sign a letter of recommendation.3) Pass a 4 hr test of both trade and law that is extremely difficult.
