If the deal finder were to receive equity in the deal, it would be a maximum of 20% (15% is more likely).That said, if you are interning for this experience investor, a salary is also another option.The increase in your compensation will be in the experienced investors' control.

My initial thoughts are to convert it into student housing where I've heard some people will rent rooms out to international and domestic students and collect a good sum.

That did not happen....2nd mistake- we did not do our own internal due diligence and perform a background check.3rd- one of my other partners was informed in June that the current tenants were subletting(I found out 10/23/18, yes 3 days ago) and did not tell me.
