I work in Healthcare and hate winters, but love fall. 

You don't have to continue to risk your funds and your sanity aiding your adult child.  

One option of course is eviction with the aid of an attorney and the courts... emphasize this is a bad choice for him (which it is) and no action means that the family will pursue that option.

The landscape for healthcare is much different today than decades ago.
