Everyone has to live somewhere.

After 45 + years as a real estate investor, broker, lender, fund manager and syndicator, I’ve become aware that the “dream” of many investors and investor “hopefuls” is to be able to generate enough cash flow to live off their real estate holdings and accumulate enough wealth to make “work” optional.

Let people live.

Having a long-term rental while living abroad is do-able.Flipping houses while abroad, in my opinion, more difficult, especially if its your first go around with real estate.I would recommend taking a flight and staying in the area for a week and inspect the neighborhoods and make connections.You can reach out to @Elenis Camargo who has a PM company in Jacksonville.Best of luck though.

I have not lived in the property two years and feel that any profit I may make on a sale would get chewed up by closing costs and capital gains. 

I have changed my rental strategy to Co-Living (rent by the room).

First: Can you commit to living there for at least two years?

Hello - I'm new to Bigger Pockets, excited to get my real estate investment journey going.I own a Condo in Chicago with a friend of mine (split 50/50), which I've lived in for about 5 years.

I wanted to invest where I wanted to live and I am also from Elgin so am constantly headed further nw. 

Maybe I should have clarified, like I said I posted on here before about this tenant, they both lived there husband left months ago just her there, he left all his stuff, she left most of her stuff, my 14 day notice I gave her ended on 31st of Jan, she told me she was out, husband wants to get stuff and throw out /clean out what's there that's why the dumpster, I just want to know if I can change locks or should I leave it till they remove there stuff, I was going to post a 15 day get your belongings out or I will disgard notice on the door.
