I'm thinking it's legit so long as they haven't been used unless some post office has some strict guidelines or you bought "uncancelled" ones that were actually cancelled through some UV laser scan method I only just read a little something about rather than the obvious black ink stamp method.

Luckily we had help from both our fathers- hers a retired carpenter, and my father had worked in construction as a teenager extensively and knew what to do.Here is the original Bathroom- By now we had already removed the plaster from the closet (which was attached to the beam on the left) along with the pink sqaure tiles that were along the base 1/3 of the room.Once we started tearing up everything, here is a progression...Above is my Girlfriend's Dad cutting the joists from the old closet.Once we identified that the studs/joists in the floor were rotten, we scabbed on to the ones that were bad with new 2 x 10 boards and supported them with a crossbeam underneath.

In two years my wife and I made these improvements:- Tiled the floor, refinished the kitchen, paid for granite countertops, installed new lighting, new ceilings fans, new hinges, new door knobs, built a shed, installed new wood on the deck frame, installed new pillars and supporting beams on the front patio, replaced 50 feet of fence, installed a light in attic, repaired and reprogrammed the alarm, replaced almost the entirely both bathrooms, painted,and paid to have 4 windows installed in the bedrooms.

Same goes if you cut into a load bearing wall to move a room and realize you need to spend a grand on a huge beam.
