I recommend looking into Columbus OH - lots of population growth, job growth, and major companies building out here like Intel, Meta, Google, Amazon, etc.

However, if you want organic placement on google and Bing than I would go with Carrot.

For direct bookings, you've got to improve your SEO ranking on Google. 

You can get an idea by just looking at Google Maps and seeing how many are near you.

There's certainly quite a few of us around but things have been kinda slow since the interest rates jumped up and BP is doing a revamp of their website and overhauling the different premium tier packages and I've noticed its been messing with notifications and keywords and such so some people are just missing posts they would normally see.
