While I am only human I have noticed direct correlation between the absence of sugar and high levels of motivation, energy, and daresay optimism; adversely I've noticed that high levels of sugar consumption, especially in daytime hours, lead to horrible crashes of energy, motivation, and daresay depression (not necessarily clinical depression but certainly depressed attitude or state of mind).

My wife is a clinic manager, I am more than well aware of all the aspects and facts of covid, including supported original efforts to flatten the curve, that made sense and was important, since then it is a former VP Dick Cheney said "don't let any crises go to waste", and gone into a whole different place.
