Gonzalez - I don't personally know anyone who has gone through the process but will definitely follow this post because I am curious.There is a chance @Prashanth Mahakali or @Samuel Pavlovcik have already gone through the process as they are licensed Chicago architects.

The contractor built the porch exactly to the architects drawings.

I worked with a designer/architect to come up with two ways of accomplish the goal.

I will like to carve out a separate unit about 700 square feet with a separate entrance.Can anyone refer an architect and or share their experience on a similar projects.TIA

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a top cabin design architect in Sevier County area that can tweak my existing cabin plans to best use the space. 

My architect and I sent them over assembly bill No 811 on ADUs and mentioned that the looks to be in violation of the bill quoting the following:"Accessory dwelling units shall not be considered by a local agency, special district, or water corporation to bea new residential use for purposes of calculating connection fees or capacity charges for utilities, including waterand sewer service, unless the accessory dwelling unit was constructed with a new single-family dwelling"They responded saying that this didn't apply to the ADU and quoted the following"(B) For an accessory dwelling unit that is not described in subparagraph (A) of paragraph (1) of subdivision (e), alocal agency, special district, or water corporation may require a new or separate utility connection directlybetween the accessory dwelling unit and the utility.

We were told by our architect that we could legally build out our basement which is a MASSIVE financial gain and the best part is that our foundation guy quoted us $20k to dig out and pour the slab now putting the foundation bill at $130k.
