@Tosha JohnsonI think it's incredibly admirable that you had the foresight to enter into REI at such a young age.  

Only buy and he's done that admirably by investing in high yield dividend stocks which he lives quite comfortably on. 

Start out by thanking them for there concerns and criticisms by making you aware then genuinely telling them what makes them a good tenant and characteristics you admire, after that tell them why this arrangement will be mutually beneficial.

I admire and respect those who invest in what I call "dodgy" zip codes and areas, because they are improving neighborhoods (hopefully) and providing decent housing in areas, where it may be hard to find.
