Use in a reasonable manner all appliances, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other components of the Property (examples include: cleaning the lint tray in the dryer before each use to mitigate fire danger; only flushing feces, urine, and toilet paper down the toilet drain to prevent sewer back up; etc

Areas of the house smelled like urine, but with a good cleaning and some airing out it was fine. 

Look, I know of some people killing it at almost EVERYTHING, I call this the "Urinal Cake Principle", because for all but anything you can think of SOMEONE is "The Guy/Gal" of it, no matter how niche or micro-success it is.

Certainly you need to be cautious, however I love the smell of cat urine and some termite damage.

I'm talking about stolen appliances, holes in the drywall, broken windows, drug paraphernalia, and even sometimes urine and feces.

Lesley:If the problem is not too severe ... ie. the urine is not completely absorbed into the subfloor and/or walls ... there are concentrated enzyme products you can order on-line (the name of the one we used escapes me at the moment).  

Pet urine, fleas, insects of all sorts, plumbing in disorder, roof leaking - and people are still living there; to those people still living in such conditions, they probably think that is "livable".

I have refinished hardwood in a rental, but only because it was the only way that worked to cover animal urine smell.
