@Mike McCarthyI understand what you're saying and agree with the premise but not the conclusion.I think by your logic - should we not pay for an iPhone because they are a for profit company?

This is a setting on iPhones and I believe Android/Other phones have the same capability.  

Ideally, I'd just turn on the app, walk my property, and then the app would create a topographic map, and maybe provide some shading based on inputs like slope %.I've used iphone apps like Gaia to import 3rd party topographic maps and map hikes using waypoints.

Cut back on your Iphone payment, car payment and starbucks already.  100 bucks will cut your payment in half and save you $100,000 in interest most cases.Opinions are just theories.
