In my opinion, the primary reasons are financing and appreciation.Generally, you're likely to have trouble getting financing for investment properties here.  

Does anyone have trouble running comps for properties in PR?

Would I have trouble qualifying or are they just more complicated? 

What I see, is most people get just enough knowledge to create trouble for themselves...kind of giving themselves a false sense of comfort.I say real estate is a team sport. 

Buy a lot, install fence and lighting and gate access.
