a lot off shops charge cheap but their polishing and installation is also cheap. so in most off cases you get what you pay for.In NJ there is a lot off wholesalers you can buy a slab and do your own fabrication .a slab costs between 500 to 800.

I pay $26 per sq. ft for fabrication and installation and I do not get charged extra for OG bullnose or mitered edge details.For slabs, it depends if you get the jumbo slabs or regular, but I can buy jumbo slabs and net 60 sq. ft out of them and only pay $600-$750 for them.

If you do decide to paint, you can sort of "prototype" the color by going to the fabric store and getting a few yards of different colors of fabric - pure white, cream, whatever you think might look good.
