I ran across a product at Lowe's today. It is called Modern Masters Countertop Transformations. It is essentially a way to paint/epoxy old laminate countertops to give a "granite" look. It costs $250 to cover 50sf of countertop.

I was just curious if anyone has used this product. If it works, it seems like a GREAT way to save old countertops. If is sucks, then it seems like a GREAT way to waste $250 and a day's worth of labor.

Anyone used it?

I have not used it so I can not comment on its value. I would like to ask an important question that should be answered before you choose either to go with it or not to and that is: what is your investment strategy and what is the local area competition consist of?

If you are renting, you need to consider cost and how long it will last/hold-up. If you are flipping, you need to consider more closely the competition and the market conditions.
