It's kind of shocking to ride through what used to be some of the rougher parts of the city and see such a diversity of people living there now.

They have a ton information about different strategies from a huge diversity of people.

What I can tell you is overall it is a solid market both by characteristics that are important to me in evaluating markets (strong economic growith / momentum for the city, diversity of business, high amount of renters, low property taxes compared to purchase price, solid neighborhoods with tenant quality etc) as well as it is a market that I believe over time the long term will have small but steady price appreciation.  

Diversity is the (not so) secret to reliable income from investments.

Check out quality of posts, websites, LinkedIn and any other background information.Since I'm new to the REI arena, I've spent considerable time learning, observing, following and reading select member posts on BP that I've come to trust, just to understand the nature of this diverse business. 

I'm probably one of the people you mentioned that avoids the "****ty" little towns because they don't provide a diverse enough job base/stability I'm looking for.

There was a lot to learn here, mostly about human relations, and there was a lot of interesting and diverse insight by the posters.You sound like a motivated, efficient business professional used to travelling in a circle of like minded people and as you said, you have expectations that the folks you deal with will carry a similar attitude. 

We think individuals will continue to find crowdfunding opportunities - given the low minimums compared to direct project investing, diversity of deals, and online access - to be an attractive component of their real estate investing experience.
