I looked briefly but got distracted.

Obviously your situation could be special, but I just think honing in on leaving the rat race is a distraction.

I feel like if you make house hacking your focus, it could distract you from finding somewhere you really love to live and you could end up back in the same scenario--not totally jiving with where you're living.

In my opinion, people get distracted by what others are doing and it only serves to limit their investing or lower the returns on their own investments.Best of luck,John

Nevertheless, the reason Angelenos are openly disdainful about this whole thing is that city leaders are, once again, distracted by (the extremely uncertain prospect of) shiny, whirring objects polluting our skies, while ignoring the most basic, everyday ground transportation needs of regular Angelenos, 99 percent of whom will never ride in a flying taxi.

In my opinion you don't need a real estate license to invest in real estate in any way, and to many it is a distraction and a burden. 

I've cut a lot of distractions out of my life and definitely can tell how focus i am on my short/long term goals.
