I lost my potential profits in these deals, but I was once again reminded how my team is critical in the future of my career in this business.

@Alfred Clarke Jr The principle that is so critical here is that you communicate to the person what you can do for them not what they can do for you.   

If they have not done many the odds of success are low as they will likely make critical mistakes during the process.

There could be things much worse than those readily visible and you can't estimate how much to offer without putting this very critical figure into the equation.
