But, the distinction is important enough that I would suggest everyone who doesn't know the difference (and the relationship) spend some time learning. Here's another good read:http://stats.org/in_depth/faq/causation_correlation.htmOnce you understand that causation has a VERY SPECIFIC mathematical definition, you'll start to see why three random examples from Rich and one from you doesn't prove anything. In fact, when the most educated, experienced and respected economists in the country don't necessarily agree that there is a causative affect between taxes and unemployment, Rich's three examples and your one example aren't going to prove otherwise...regardless of how much you guys thinks you've "proven" it.

god knows what kind of garbage they are misguidedly or intentionally putting in as fertilizer...and, the tax would be heavily outweighed by the increased production and cutting out middlemen (dealers mostly) since the farmers could just sell it themselves directly now that there is no legal risk.one benefit i can possibly see is that some of the lowlifes that come into this country because they are involved in the drug trade, would perhaps not come if they could not longer make money by smuggling pot here. of course the cocaine and heroin would still flow but a lot of times there is a distinction; people who smuggle/sell pot often don't do other things as well.
