It was really needed because whenever it pours outside, water would flow through the wall and run to the drain in the basement, so I had a french drain installed and the walls sealed. 

@Tyler French why not buy something that's close to you and that you can manage so you can learn more about the process?

I am sure there will be a correction in the future, but when and how much is like guessing the right loto numbers.

You can do French drains and concrete sealer and take care of the problem.

And how does one go about explaining their "intent to reassign" the LO to a potential third party 'buyer?'
