It is the tech hub where house prices are soaring. 1% rule other areas are possible but not in strong appreciating markets.

So with tech today much easier than what they did back then. 

There are buyers at that price point, such as pro sports, doctors, tech, etc.

Columbus has become a major tech hub in the midwest with large companies like Intel investing $20 billion, Amazon investing $3.5 billion, Google building 2 new data centers: one in downtown Columbus and the other in right outside of U.S. 33 in Lancaster.

Sounds like the tech scene there has been growing fast too.

I work in tech, at a software company however have a real estate bug.

Folks that's strong in tech, financial, can easily grasp investment/trading with higher reward/risk.Real estate is actually more for real actual entrepreneur.

There are also a lot of new tech jobs moving to the area.
