When Netflix came out in 2002 I saw they offered movies Blockbuster didn't and my friend were all getting these red mailers- and bought in at $15. things like that.

But, praising their "help" and rewarding it every once in a while (not every day) with an ice cream cone or a movie (CLEARLY stating that the cone or the movie is "payment for their services") will teach them that focus and effort are rewarded.
