In 2 years have an election and politicians always want things moving up during election years for the voters.However the biggest factor is what do you enjoy and want to do. 

Rent control works to get politicians re-elected.

Because the insurers don’t want government regulators, or worse, politicians, sniffing around their business, rates, internal records, etc.  

Seems like the left leaning politicians keep helping the rich get richer.

And even if this mythical beast existed, squeezing $1000/month out of it would be on par with squeezing the truth out of a politician...

The only thing that didn't change during those years was self serving politicians taking care of themselves and if some crumbs happened to fall into the plates of the ordinary citizens they represented  they thought their own personal existence was truly manifest destiny.
