If you consistently analyze properties, recognizing a good deal will be much easier when it shows up.

Its not just buy a place and toss it on Airbnb; its a business and it requires knowledge, resources, and recognizing that there are many different ways to have an STR business if you want the ROI. 

But, it is just those imperfect markets and deals that may have hidden value that others' have difficulty recognizing.

@Dan Mahoney I recognized at the top of this thread that water bills are liens like real property, regardless of whether a lien is recorded.

Long story short I was at least able to defend myself, invoke the general warranty in my deed, add a claim against the attorney for malpractice... and the malpractice carrier paid the item days prior to the scheduled foreclosure.To those who like to gamble and as I say to all buyers who decline owners coverage...

Yes, time in the market is key, but most, myself included, have had a tendency to gamble on stocks, lose our money and never truly hold.

I recognize I can get more doing it myself, but I may value my time at a higher rate than others and I am happy with the return.
