Would you ever rent to a guy with no income, a > 700 credit score that is trying to start a woodworking business?

Have you noticed any properties that sit on the market for a year, then finally one person makes an offer and 3 other buyers come out the woodwork?

Stick with light colors in the tan-sand-beige-greige range, white woodwork (easy touch-ups), with maybe a pale blue or cream for baths, utility rooms, closets, etc.

I'd just like to add that some of these old homes have outstanding woodwork, stained glass, fireplace mantels, etc.

I have always rented to very reasonable people who I suspect would note the difference between a house that requires normal cleaning following a turnover and one that has urine stained carpets, chewed up woodwork, etc.

Our offer was accepted today on a nice duplex on a neat, well-kept street of mostly large single family homes that I would live in myself, if I didn't like my own house so much. 3  bdrms up & down, natural woodwork, built-ins, arched doorways, 2 car garage.

However, what they will do, is purposely throw barriers in your path to deter the inexperienced and clueless draw them out of the wood work and weed them out.  

Not two hundred.That's assuming the cat hasn't also scratched up the walls, woodwork, windows, curtains, and anything else there is.
