Its doable and will provide you the ability to fire someone if need be without having to worry who will replace them.

Boston is an awesome area to invest.I just got my first deal househacking in Everett so it is doable. 

I usually fly there but feel like if I have to drive it is doable.

My recommendation, if you're looking to be a buy and hold investor, use the house-hacking advantage and purchase a multi to live in. 500k is still doable in the Bronx, but you can also look at places like Yonkers in Westchester.

@Stephen R.It doesn't appear from your description that what you wish to do will be doable in order for you to be in compliance with the IRA. 

You might even talk to a lender now to get a sense of where you need to be and see if that is even doable within the time of the option.

Orlando has plenty of cleaners/handymen/etc self managing there is very doable. 

The fha was alittle tougher but definetly doable.
