It is even difficult for Colombian citizens to get mortgages.To even be considered for a mortgage as a foreigner in Colombia, you will need to have residency and have lived in Colombia preferably for a few years.

The property is zoned R-6 and in the Citizens Guide to Residential Zoning Districts & Regulations on the Richmond City website R-6 properties allow for "One dwelling unit located in an accessory building, containing two or more stories (lawfully existing prior to the date of this section), with conditions" ... which to your point sounds like accessory units are only "grandfathered in" .. still I will reach out to the planning department for more information.

The house while old is in nice condition and has quite a bit of new components (roof, boiler, hot water tank) and should make for a great rental so be we do a good job of screening tenants.By no means am I saying it is A or B class renting and the tenants are top notch citizens but it is not at the other end of the spectrum that some are imposing is all doom and gloom.
