LLC mortgage for rental property

Jacob Sirotkin
Posted

I intend to invest in US real estate , im not an american citizen nor do i have a green card so i figured an llc could be the solution for me.

i have several questions about it

1)can i take a mortgage with an llc and what are my limitatations? how high will my intrest be?

2)i have money saved up in my home country, how do i put it into the llc? what is the tax on such an action?

thank you in advance

Hi Jacob,

I represent many international investors. You will have to deal with FIRPTA upon exit, issues on funds transfer and signing. However, it can be done!

1. Yes, mortgage can be obtained on asset alone. Interest is likely floating.

2. Wire transfer at closing, wire to law firm both of those will work if you can't get into the US to physically sign for an account. No tax upon funding, only gain or income.
